Week-one Meta tests: fatigue, form quality, frequency

In this lesson

  • Write one Meta-only kill rule that uses frequency, fatigue, or form-to-show — not Search Terms

Tests that belong in Meta

A Meta test changes a creative, a form field, an audience stance, or a frequency cap. Valid week-one tests: (1) Creative fatigue — if prospecting frequency hits ≥ 3.0 in seven days and hook-through / thumbstop drops, rotate the hook; do not raise budget. (2) Form quality — if 20 Instant Form leads produce 0 shows (or the desk cannot reach anyone), add timeframe + budget or move that spend to the landing page. (3) Retargeting frequency — if frequency ≥ 6 and zero Schedule events, pause retargeting; you are stalking the same 200 people. Invalid “tests”: reviewing Search Terms (there are none), changing match types (there are none), fleeing to Google because CPM felt high, pausing because a competitor boosted a post for two days.

Write the kill rule before you spend

A kill rule is a number plus an action you will take without a meeting. Example: “If prospecting frequency ≥ 3.0 by day 7 and the winning hook’s unique outbound CTR falls while spend holds, pause that creative and shoot the next cell of the 3×2 — do not add budget.” Example: “If Instant Form show rate is 0/20, replace name+phone with budget + timeframe or shift the $300 test pocket to the LP.” That is Meta. “If Search Terms look junk, go exact” is a Google rule wearing a Meta costume. “If CTR is 2%, scale or flee” is a feeling.

The conversion you watch is a booked visit that shows (Schedule, then the desk’s show). Frequency and form quality are how you decide who stays. Do not import a Search Terms ritual into Ads Manager.

Creative, forms, and Meta-test check

Which opening does the job in three seconds for Northfield?
Which Instant Form field list is most likely to improve show rate without crushing volume?
The SRP can filter to CR-Vs and the page has a Saturday booking widget. Instant Form or landing page for the inventory hook?
Which are valid week-one Meta kill rules? Select all that apply.
True or false: If prospecting frequency hits 3.5 in week one and the hook stops getting thumbstops, you should raise the budget so Advantage can learn.

Assignment

6-variant creative board + form fields + Meta kill rule

Submit three artifacts, not a memo: (1) the 3-hook × 2-proof board for Northfield — six rows with first-line text, first-frame visual, and a bookable CTA; (2) the Instant Form keep/drop field list (budget and timeframe must be marked keep; SSN and dream-car essay must be drop) plus Instant Form vs landing page for week one; (3) one Meta-only kill rule that uses frequency, creative fatigue, or form-to-show quality. Do not write a Search Terms or match-type rule. Do not invent engagement rates or ROAS.

Deliverable: 6-row creative board + 12-row keep/drop fields + one Meta-only kill rule.

Write at least a short brief (80+ characters). A mentor reviews for a pass.
