Instant form vs landing page — fields that show, fields that kill

In this lesson

  • Pick Instant Form or landing page for a named job and defend the field list
  • Know which fields raise show rate and which crush volume without improving shows

Two doors, one desk

An Instant Form (Lead Ad) stays inside Facebook / Instagram. Volume is higher; intent is softer; the desk gets a CRM row without a site visit. A landing page can show today’s CR-Vs and the 48-hour offer before anyone types a phone number. Use the Instant Form when you are testing volume or the SRP / booking widget is broken. Use the landing page when the SRP can filter to CR-Vs and a human can book a Saturday slot on that page. Never send Instant Form leads to a homepage with no booking path and call it “nurture.” Never send landing-page traffic to a 404 or a blog post about CVT theory.

Fields that raise show rate vs fields that kill volume

Keep (and prefer multiple choice): name, phone, email (pre-fill is fine), budget range, timeframe (this week / this month / 30–60 days), preferred appointment window, trade-in yes/no. Those questions cost a little volume and buy a desk that can call with a plan — that is show rate. Kill-volume fields that do not improve shows: SSN, exact income, employer + years, upload paystubs, “describe your dream car” essay, 12 open-text boxes, credit-score exact number. A name + phone only form will hit Dana’s 50-lead vanity number and fill Saturday with people who never intended to come. If you must ask credit, ask a band (e.g. 580–650 / 650+) or “ready for a same-day decision — yes/no,” not a Social Security number inside Meta.

Lowest CPL on a name+phone Instant Form is not a win. A twelve-field form that asks for SSN is not “quality.” Quality is a booked visit that shows.

Exercise

Keep / drop the field list

For an Instant Form aimed at the 48-hour CR-V test drive, mark keep or drop: name; phone; email; budget range; timeframe; Saturday vs weekday window; trade-in Y/N; SSN; exact annual income; employer; “dream car” open text; credit-score number. Then say Instant Form or landing page for week one and why (one sentence).

Deliverable: 12-row keep/drop table + one-sentence door choice.
