Integration matrix: systems that change for HVAC

In this lesson

  • Map each prior-course system to HVAC and name what must change
  • Reject copy-paste artifacts (CR-V map, VDP events, 48-hour test drive)

The job is transfer, not reuse

Every prior course taught a system. The capstone grade is whether you can change the system for a service shop. Copy-paste is a fail. Write a matrix: system | what still applies | what must change for HVAC. If the “change” column is blank, you have not done the work.

Worked matrix (do not submit this as your plan)

Foundations / ICP: still name who is worth a tech this month and who is not. Change: ICP is a homeowner inside ~25 miles with a system to service, not a Saturday CR-V shopper; anti-ICP is Baltimore dispatch, “lowest price in Maryland,” and tire-kickers asking only “how much is a new AC.” SEO: still map intent to a URL. Change: page types are Home / Services / tune-up landing / estimate / emergency-heat — not homepage vs SRP vs VDP. GEO: still earn citations. Change: entity is a licensed Hagerstown shop with a Dual Highway address, not a Frederick lot with 55 VINs. Search Ads: still split budget by job. Change: jobs are fall tune-up, emergency heat, and replacement estimate — not brand / inventory / research / junk around a CR-V. Meta: still protect lead quality. Change: the first question is service type + ZIP + urgency, not “which vehicle.” Conversion paths: still message-match the click. Change: the first field cannot be a long comment; click-to-call and a same-week heat SLA beat a 14-item services list. Analytics: still instrument the money event. Change: click_to_call and book_tuneup / book_estimate, not view_item on a VDP. Follow-up: still write an SLA. Change: emergency heat is hours, not “we will call you Monday”; planned tune-ups can wait 24 hours. Recycled Northfield column — CR-V map, $3k Search, Dana’s test drive — stays empty on purpose.

Last month: 22 booked appointments, 9 no-shows, 61 website form fills (many “how much does a new AC cost?”), 14 Google Business Profile calls that went to a shared cell with no logging. Nobody can say which form became a job. Until you can join a form or a GBP call to a booked job, do not copy a dealer dashboard that celebrates sessions.

Exercise

Fill the change column

Write eight rows (foundations, SEO, GEO, Search Ads, Meta, conversion path, analytics, follow-up). Each row: applies / changes for HVAC / artifact you refuse to paste from Northfield. Channel notes must mention HVAC seasonality (fall maintenance vs emergency heat).

Deliverable: Eight-row matrix. Blank “change” cells fail.
